FAQ

If you have any questions, look it up on the list below, you might find an answer! If not, do not hesitate to contact us.

  • You have two choices. You can start by the Discover Scuba Diving initiation course, which consists of a short pool session in which you will experience scuba diving. This option is the best if you aren’t ready to invest a lot of time in the beginner course, which is quite demanding. However, if you are certain that scuba diving is the sport for you, you can start right away with the Open Water Diver beginner course without having done the initiation course first.

  • The fins, mask and tuba must come from a speciality scuba diving store. These three accessories must be scuba diving quality grade.

For the fins, we recommend buying fins and booties. Although bootless fins might be suitable for warm water and pool diving, you will not be able to wear them for diving outside as your toes might be cold!

There are multiple prices to choose from. As long as the items as diving quality grade, they will be satisfactory for the courses.

If you are doing a Discover Scuba Diving initiation, you do not need to have your own fins, mask and tuba. They will loaned to you. However, you will need your own for the Open Water Diver beginner course.

  • Most of the out of the water part of the courses are done at our main office: 45 Boulevard de la Seigneurie Est in Blainville (J7C 4G6). It is possible to plan another location with your instructor if the main office is not suitable for you. Contact us or your instructor for more information.

  • The pool that we most commonly use is the Centre Récréatif Édouard-Rivet pool located at 11111 rue Notre-Dame Est in Montréal-Est (H1B 2V7).

  • The outdoor parts of the courses we offer can be done in many locations. Your instructor will select the location based on the course you are taking. Our favorites sites include: the canal facing the EcoDive dive center in Valleyfield (J6S 2R5), the Kahnawake quarry (J0L 1B0), the Morrison quarry (J9B 2K4), the Flintkote quarry (G6H 3H7), Centeen Park in Brockville (K6V 1A6), and the Ivy Lea camping in Ontario (K0E 1L0).

The Valleyfiled canal, Centeen Park and the Ivy Lea camping are recommended for Open Water Diver beginner courses as they have shallow parts and the water is warmer. Quarries are mostly used for advanced courses as they can reach up to 100-meter depth suitable for specific dives.
